Greetings, citizens, diplomats, dignitaries and ambassadors. I am Fleet Admiral Jon Russo of the United Forces Command, speaking on behalf of the Unity Council. This message is being transmitted to you from the year 2317.
As you are already aware, this past weekend, we reinstated your annual tradition, MechaCon, in our own century and are happy to report it was a resounding success. For all of you who crossed the space/time threshold to join us at our inaugural event, we truly appreciate your spirit of exploration in making the leap of faith. We hoped to honor our forebears by welcoming you, their original attendees, as our guests, and you didn’t disappoint. Thank you all so very much for joining us.
Because you made the celebration so successful, we plan to once again host MechaCon at Crescent Station on the weekend of July 27-29, 2318! And, since this year’s temporal passage worked like a charm (many of you reported never even noticing the space/time shift upon entry), we will once again open the gateway at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans on July 26th. We hope you will take the opportunity to join us once again.
In closing, we thank you for your continued support and the men and women of the United Fleet and United Marines will be ready to welcome you back next year. Please note that pre-registration, as well as registration for our Colonial Bazaar Artisans Market will be made available to you on 01JAN18. We eagerly await your participation and attendance and once again thank you for choosing MechaCon.
In the meantime, the U.F.S. MechaCon has been dispatched to investigate a peculiar signal emanating from the Owaan settlement located on the Saturnian moon of Titan. While the signal is indeed odd in origin, we fully expect this to develop into little more than a routine patrol mission. We anticipate no delays in returning to Crescent Station in time to use the Eye of Odin to begin facilitating registrations at the turn of the new year.
This is Fleet Admiral Russo, onboard the U.F.S. MechaCon, signing out.
