It is with extremely heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to a good friend and MechaCon Staff member, Amanda Morain. Amanda passed away this morning, May 20, 2010 after complications from an illness.

Amanda was MechaCon’s Special Events Coordinator this year. This was her first year on staff, after getting to know us from working at the Hilton during MechaCon. She was excited to join our staff, and we were ecstatic to have her. During all of this, we all gained a great friend. Her smile always lit up the room. Her optimism and willingness to put her heart and soul into everything is rare, and will be deeply missed by all of us. The time we got to spend with her was way too short, but will never be forgotten.

Our sincerest condolences go out to her fiance’, family, and friends. Our hearts are breaking with you.

Rest in Peace, sweet Amanda. We miss you already.
