MechaCon loves its GoldPass registrants! As such, immediately following the MechaCon Opening Ceremonies / formal-semiformal dinner, our GoldPass registrants will be treated to a meet-n-greet where they can mingle on a personal level with our honored guests. Kicking off our convention weekend on Friday night, the Opening Ceremonies & Formal/Semi-formal Dinner is an event where we introduce our guests, cultural VIPs and convention organizers. Being a Formal/semi-formal event, attendees are urged to dress in formal Asian attire. We have the best in Shojo, Mecha and Shonen animation and our main video room features movies, new releases, A/V panels and misc. animes. Always a great place to stop and relax during the busy convention weekend, our video rooms are sure to please.
A bazaar of Anime, Transformers and Japanese cultural goodness, featuring dealers from across the U.S. and merchandise both domestic and imported, the MechaCon dealers room gives attendees an opportunity to acquire rare merchandise that is so incredibly hard to come by anywhere else. Think you can find any and everything our dealers have to offer by simply browsing online? Not necessarily. You’d be surprised at what you’ll find at our bazaar! Stop by and take a look!
Panels, Presentations & Workshops
What cultural event would be complete without panels, presentations & workshops? All weekend long, MechaCon offers attendees an opportunity to sit-in on demonstrations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, chances to meet your favorite guests, etc. Check for updates!
Gaming has become a staple of Anime conventions and MechaCon doesn’t fail to deliver! A wide variety of Console/Video Gaming and Table-top Gaming (CCGs and RPGs) will be available for attendees to enjoy! Click here for more information.
Costumes! A staple of anime conventions, MechaCon continues this great tradition with our very own Cosplay Competition. With categories such as performance, craftsmanship, and hallway cosplay, cosplayers ranging from first-timers to veterans will find their niche! A huge success last year and returning this year, MechaCon will be hosting life-sized Cosplay Chess! Come and see cosplayers battle it out on our giant chess board. This event will take place on Sunday. Visit the cosplay registration table if you want to sign up to play, but please keep in mind that spaces are limited. Everyone is invited to be a spectator, though. It’s sure to be lots of fun!
MechaCon offers a variety of contests, from Cosplay to Anime Music Video contests. Anyone can enter from first-time artists to professional video editors to long-time costumers, as long as you’re a registered member. There are a variety of prizes and categories, and room for everyone to compete.
