Special Events Support Staff

Assists Special Events Coordinator with managing and coordinating large scale events by providing supervision of volunteers while serving as liaison to guests acting as show personnel.

Events this position supports:
- Opening Ceremonies & Dinner
- Formal Ball
- Cosplay
- Charity Auction
- AMV Contest
- Large panels/Signings

Meets with Special Events Coordinator to become familiar with program location and seating arrangements, equipment and services requirements.

Assists in facilitating solutions to problems facing the department.

Assures compliance with MechaCon policy, fire regulations and security procedures.

Assists in event planning and implementation of activities with Special Events Coordinator and Floor Director to assure effective, efficient, and economical event operations.

Monitors events in progress, notifies Floor Director or Special Events Coordinator of operational and procedural problems, notes any damages incurred as a result of the event; assures facilities are vacated at the appointed time and set up in preparation for the next event.

Please keep in mind that all applicants will be carefully screened and interviewed by MechaCon Organizers (the owners of Sennin Productions, LLC) and by appropriate Staff Department Heads. Please also note that MechaCon is a labor of love, and that these positions are not paying positions. However, a lot of work and dedication goes into being a MechaCon Staff or Support Staff Member, and it is very rewarding. As a staff or support staff member, you would be required to work all 3 days of the convention, and help in some of the prep work that goes into putting on such a large show. Please only apply if you are willing to completely dedicate yourself to this venture.

Also, you can still be a volunteer and help at the convention, without dedicating the amount of time that it takes to be on staff. You can find out about volunteering by going to our Volunteer Page. We appreciate every single person that helps to make this convention a success, and we couldn't do it without all the generous volunteers that we get!
