Promotions Manager


Acquires promotional items from both industry companies and local merchants to be used for prizes and giveaways at MechaCon.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Calling and emailing companies in the anime industry to acquire promotional items to be used as prizes, giveaways, and for stuffing attendee bags.
- Following up with companies to ensure delivery of items in a timely manner prior to the convention.
- Organizing promotional items, seperating them, and assuring each item gets to the correct place, and is used for the purpose originally intended by the company that sent them.
- Acquiring donations from industry and local merchants prior to the convention to be auctioned off in our Charity Auction.
- Organizing bag stuffing, and assuring that all of the correct items are placed in the correct bags.
- Making sure all departments that need prizes have them both prior to and at the convention.
- Organizing and distributing prize support at MechaCon.

Requirements: Well developed verbal and written communication skills, well developed organizational skills, persistence and patience. Industry contacts are a plus, but not necessary.

Please keep in mind that all applicants will be carefully screened and interviewed by MechaCon Organizers (the owners of Sennin Productions, LLC) and by appropriate Staff Department Heads. Please also note that MechaCon is a labor of love, and that these positions are not paying positions. However, a lot of work and dedication goes into being a MechaCon Staff or Support Staff Member, and it is very rewarding. As a staff or support staff member, you would be required to work all 3 days of the convention, and help in some of the prep work that goes into putting on such a large show. Please only apply if you are willing to completely dedicate yourself to this venture.

Also, you can still be a volunteer and help at the convention, without dedicating the amount of time that it takes to be on staff. You can find out about volunteering by going to our Volunteer Page. We appreciate every single person that helps to make this convention a success, and we couldn't do it without all the generous volunteers that we get!
