Check out Ambassador Caleb Hyles’ responses to our quick 10 question email interview!

Q1: What has been the most difficult song you’ve covered?
A1: That’s a toss up between “Bang, Bang” from Jessie J, and “Defying Gravity”. Both incredibly difficult songs with a ton of peaks and valleys, vocally.

Q2: What has been your best experience with fans?
A2: Oh man, there’s just too many to choose only one! If I had to pick one instance, there were these two girls who came up to me after a sing-a-long that was added last minute to the schedule (like, two days before the convention was supposed to begin). Both of these girls were on the fence about coming to the convention at all, but one of them saw my name added to the schedule and told her friend that she had made a decision to go. What she didn’t tell her friend is the reason why she changed her mind. Unbeknownst to the other friend, I was attending the convention and she was a huge supporter of mine. So, after my concert wrapped up she came over to me on the verge of tears. It was happy tears, I think! She kept saying “thank you” and we were hugging each other, and she was crying and I was tearing up. It was a beautiful moment There have been so many like that, though. Please don’t hesitate to say hi, everyone!!

Q3: What do you like doing in your spare time?
A3: Hanging with friends, eating pizza, ya know! Mostly playing video games, but I do have some other creative endeavors that I dabble in every now and then. Oh, and hanging with my wife 🙂

Q4: If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
A4: A very very large bird that no other bird would mess with. I just want to fly around the world peacefully, without fear of being eaten!

Q5. What’s the last thing you watched on TV or Film, and why did you choose to watch it?
A5: Shark Tank! Because one of these days I’m going to invent a one-million dollar idea and I need inspiration!!

Q6. If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A6: Back to Japan. In a heartbeat.

Q7. What are your top four favorite covers you have done?
A7: Ah geez… Here are my top four favorite AT THE MOMENT! “The Plagues”, “History Maker”, “Megalovania”, and “Here Comes a Thought”.

Q8: What’s your favorite anime?
A8: The “Clannad” series. No question.

Q9: What was the reasoning/motivation that got you into this profession?
A9: Honestly, I NEVER anticipated this to be what I do for a living. I love love LOVE singing, and if this is how I get to live that out, then by all means I will continue to do this till the world decides I’m not cool anymore haha!

Q10: What would you tell someone that is aspiring to become a professional musician and/or Youtuber?
A10: Listen closely to the ones who love you most, and the ones whom you trust. Never lose the love for what you do. Oh, and PRACTICE.
