When: Friday at 9:00 pm.

Where: The MechaCon Main Events Room.

Who can attend: Any registered MechaCon attendee!

Attire: Black Tie Optional / Formal Cosplay Optional

This special event is Black Tie Optional / Formal Cosplay-Optional. What that means is that this is a classy event where tuxedos and evening gowns are encouraged as well as formal cosplay.

This year's formal ball will follow our dinner on the evening of July 16th.

This year's ball experience will be unforgettable as you dance the night away to the sounds of the In Harmony Jazz Quintet. This New Orleans jazz band combines jazz, swing, and classical R&B to set the mood for a night to remember.

Whether you want to cut a rug or socialize with our Ouran Host Club ball hosts and other con-goers, we are sure you will have a good time!


Here are a few guidelines to abide by to keep the spirit of the event intact:

- Men (or crossplayers) should be in a tuxedo or a suit. A jacket and tie is acceptable. Shoes must be dress shoes or similarly appropriate.

- Women (or crossplayers) should be in an evening gown or cocktail dress. Skirts / dresses should be at least knee length or longer. Footwear must be dressy or similarly appropriate.

- Formal kimonos and other formal Asian wear are allowed.

- No bare feet.

- No casual clothes; including but not limited to t-shirts, sneakers, jeans, etc.

- Hats should be removed indoors.

- Absolutely no weapons of any kind, prop or otherwise.

- Era, International culture, or Fantasy formal are invited.

- The event hosts have final say on what stays and what goes.
