Kicking off our convention weekend on Friday night, the Opening Ceremonies & Formal/Semi-formal Dinner is an event where we introduce our guests, cultural VIPs and convention organizers. Being a Formal/semi-formal event, attendees are urged to dress in formal Asian attire. Ilaria Graziano Concert

We are very excited to have the extremely talented Ilaria Graziano and her accompanyist, guitarist Francesco Forni giving a concert on Saturday night. This will be Ilaria's first live performance in America. You won't want to miss it! Click here to find out more.

Video Rooms

From chibi catgirls to ginormous transforming planets, MechaCon's video room programming includes a variety of some of your favorite anime titles. We have a video room dedicated entirely to Mecha anime (including Japanese Transformers series that have never been aired or licensed in the U.S.), a Shojo room for the best in Shojo animation and our main video room featuring movies, new releases, A/V panels and misc. animes that don't quite fit into the Shojo or Mecha categories. Always a great place to stop and relax during the busy convention weekend, our video rooms are sure to please.

Dealers Room

A bazaar of Anime, Transformers and Japanese cultural goodness, featuring dealers from across the U.S. and merchandise both domestic and imported, the MechaCon dealers room gives attendees an opportunity to acquire rare merchandise that is so incredibly hard to come by anywhere else. Think you can find any and everything our dealers have to offer by simply browsing online? Not necessarily. You'd be suprised at what you'll find at our bazaar! Stop by and take a look!

Panels, Presentations & Workshops

What cultural event would be complete without panels, presentations & workshops? All weekend long, MechaCon offers attendees an opportunity to sit-in on demonstrations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, chances to meet your favorite guests, etc. Check for updates!

Gaming

Gaming has become a staple of Anime conventions and MechaCon doesn't fail to deliver! A wide variety of Console/Video Gaming and Table-top Gaming (CCGs and RPGs) will be available for attendees to enjoy! Click here for more information.

Cosplay

Costumes! A staple of anime conventions, Mechacon continues this great tradition with our very own Cosplay Competition. With categories such as performance, craftsmanship, and hallway cosplay, cosplayers ranging from first-timers to veterans will find their niche! Guest Autograph Sessions

Our guests are a very important part of your convention experience... and with guests come Guest Autograph Sessions! Autograph Session rules and scheduled times will be available in our MechaCon Program Guide.

Guest Cocktail Hour

MechaCon loves its GoldPass registrants! As such, immediately following the MechaCon Opening Ceremonies / formal-semiformal dinner, our GoldPass registrants will be treated to a cocktail hour where they can mingle on a personal level with our honored guests. This unique event is only available to GoldPass registrants, so get your GoldPass before they're all gone! Information on pre-registration coming soon.

Contests

MechaCon offers a variety of contests, from Cosplay to Anime Music Video contests. Anyone can enter from first-time artists to professional video editors to long-time costumers, as long as you're a registered member. There are a variety of prizes and categories, and room for everyone to compete. Charity Auction

MechaCon will once again be holding a charity auction benefitting Faith House. Faith House is an organization dedicated to helping battered women and children. Due to budget cuts by the Lafayette City-Parish Government, Faith House is more in need of charitable donations now than ever before.

We hope to show the generosity and heartfelt support of Anime and Transformers fans by having a very successful charity auction contribution to offer this most noble organization. Please remember, this is to help battered women and children... so please bid generously.
