2009 Charity Auction

Benefitting Lafayette's FAITH HOUSE

Once again, MechaCon is hosting a special charity auction of one-of-a-kind fandom-like items to benefit Faith House, the local sanctuary for abused women and children. The strong show of support at the auction has really helped to show the anime community's spirit of caring and concern toward those whose lives have been torn apart by domestic violence.

With your help, at our 2008 Charity Auction, we managed to raise $1,920.00 for Faith House! Thanks so much to each of you that generously bid and to those who donated to the auction.

We were all moved by the generous bids received at the auction. The custom air-brushed Cowboy BeBop signed Guitar Hero guitar sold for $360. Our 2009 Platinum Pass sold for $400! Plus, we had many more great bids on many more items. Thanks again to all who participated! It was definitely for a great cause.

In the past 4 years, the generosity of MechaCon attendees has brought in a total of almost $7,500 for this worthwhile endeavor, and we hope that this year's auction will be our biggest yet!

Payment will be rendered at the conclusion of the auction. Preferred payment is in $USD cash. Checks will be accepted, however, your item will be sent to you upon your funds clearing. Money orders will be accepted as well. Failure to pay will enable the next highest bidder with funds to pay for the item at the winning bid price to purchase the auction lot.

Our sincerest thanks go to The Grand 16 Theatre, Kevin Dodge, Magic Mike at Magic Mike's Tattoos, Tommy Yune, Van Nguyen, and all of the generous contributors to our auction for MechaCon IV and for their support of Faith House. We could not do it without all of you! We welcome all donations and sponsors for our 2008 auction.
